Richard Crasta (Avatar Prabhu)

We're pleased to announce that we have sold Italian language rights to Richard Crasta's novel The Revised Kama Sutra to the Italian publishing house Edizioni Voland (Rome).

An edition in the Latvian language will also be published by Madris later this year.

Previously, International Titles sold German, Polish, and Israeli rights to The Revised Kama Sutra, as well as rights to the Czech and Slovak Republics and Singapore.

Richard Crasta (the American and German language editions of his novel are published under the name 'Avatar Prabhu') is also the author of Beauty Queens, Children and the Death of Sex (Harper Collins India, 1997).

His other books are Impressing the Whites, The New International Slavery (Invisible Man Books, 2000); and, as editor, Eaten by the Japanese, The Memoir of an Unknown Indian Prisoner-of-War (India 1999; US 2000), the World War II memoir of his father, John Baptist Crasta.

For the publication of the German language edition of The Revised Kama Sutra, Austrian publisher Deuticke flew Richard to Germany where he appeared in several symposiums as a featured writer at the 2001 Frankfurt Book Fair.

Below is the newly published Italian edition of The Revised Kama Sutra, Il Kamasutra riveduto e corretto (July 2005).
